The Magicians

The Magicians is the heart of this exhibition—a photograph honoring the very people who inspired it all. These are the hands that built, the souls that dreamed, the quiet heroes whose love shaped generations. This image is both memory and gratitude, capturing the strength, joy, and unshakable spirit of my family. They are the reason, the foundation, the magic behind every piece in this gallery. Through this portrait, I say thank you—for the sacrifices, the stories, and the endless love that continues to guide me forward.

Arte y Barro

Arte y Barro is a visual love letter to my family’s roots—a tribute to the generations who shaped clay and, in doing so, shaped me. Through photographs and videos from my family’s old ceramic company intertwined with images from my childhood, this piece reflects the quiet strength, artistry, and earth-bound spirit that have always defined my people. It’s a meditation on labor, legacy, and the deep connection between hands, soil, and soul. In honoring their hard work, I celebrate not just what they built, but the beauty of who they are.

Tinto

Tinto is more than a drink—it’s a ritual, a rhythm, a symbol of who we are. In Colombia, coffee runs deeper than the morning cup; it flows through our conversations, our resilience, and our sense of home. This piece captures that spirit, focusing on my brother as a living representation of our cultural strength—his posture, his presence, his quiet confidence steeped in tradition. Through intimate photographs and subtle gestures, Tinto becomes a portrait not just of a person, but of a people. It’s a celebration of the warmth, perseverance, and quiet power that rises, like steam from a cup, from our daily lives. With each frame, I aim to honor how something so simple holds so much meaning—how it connects generations and grounds us in who we are.

El Amor del Jibarito

"El Amor del Jibarito" is a personal reflection on memory, connection, and loss, inspired by my grandfather, who lives with dementia. In this piece, I pair a video of myself writing letters with the song "El Amor del Jibarito," capturing the bittersweet act of reaching out to the memories of the people and home I once knew. Through these letters, I try to preserve the emotional bonds with loved ones left back home, while navigating the fading recollections of someone I hold dear. This work is an exploration of how song, memory, and love endure, even as time and distance blur the lines between what is remembered and what is lost.

Royalty Room

“Royalty Room” is a collection of works tracing the emotional journey of a teenager navigating identity, belonging, and memory in a land far from home. The pieces reflect moments of disorientation, pride, and self-discovery. Each artwork holds a fragment of her growth—a quiet claim to her own space, her own story, her own crown.
